Why It's Important to Travel in Your 20's

If you’re like most young people, you enjoy seeing new places and having new experiences. But when it comes to traveling, many young adults don’t think they can afford it or plan on doing it down the line once they’ve graduated from school and become established in their careers.

The reality is that if you keep waiting for that perfect time to travel, you’ll probably never actually do so. While retired people may have more time and resources to do more traveling, it’s important to do as much as you can even in your 20’s.

You’ll learn a lot in college, but book smarts and real-world knowledge don’t always overlap. Traveling can help you see and experience things you previously may have only seen in a textbook or in pictures or video. Traveling can take you out of your comfort zone which helps you to grow and develop as a person.

It can also help you learn new languages and build confidence. Traveling can help you see the world in a whole new way, and you don’t even have to leave the U.S. if you can’t or don’t have the means to. If you’re looking to start within the borders of the United States, check out these great travel destinations:

· Burning Man – Black Rock Desert, Nevada

· Mardi Gras – New Orleans, Louisiana

· The California Coast Route 1 Highway

· Las Vegas, Nevada

· Bay to Breakers Race – San Francisco, California

Traveling can even be as simple as visiting a relative in a state you’ve never been to. Getting out there and experiencing the world now is something you won’t regret, and you’ll make lasting memories that will stick with you for a lifetime. Do what you can to travel now and hopefully you’ll also be able to do more once you do get a bit older.
